When you are researching a shady company, always check Fraud Files to see if Tracey & Co. have already found the dirt on your company of interest. Not much gets by them when it comes to uncovering the nasty lies of many pump and dump companies. You can also learn a lot just by reading their current investigations, which allows you to start in on the investigation yourself. The more weapons in your arsenal, the better prepared you are. This is a sawed off shotgun on the hip for any trader. A+

Not enough articles on fraudulent companies

Tracy Coenen definitely has the credentials as a CPA and forensic expert. She has some good articles about the latest types of frauds that are going on, and particularly likes to target multi level marketing/pyramid scams. She is currently being sued by a weight loss company traded on the NYSE called Medifast (MED) which operates some sort of a multi-level marketing business. As consumers, we should always be aware of these types of scams and I applaud Tracy for specializing in these types of fraud cases.

A good site to keep an eye on.

A really good blog for keeping up to date with fraud and scams. Definatley worth popping into from time to time to stay on top of what to stay away from- this sit is also very current.

Solid crime buster and hilarious too!

Fraud Files is bit different than Citron or Street Sweeper.

Mainly most of the information is not trade/investment friendly. Which is the only reason I don't give it a 5 star. That being said the quality of the work is very very good and daring.

Tracy Coenen is an expert forsenic account. She also appears to be a cynic , which is probably good trait to have if you are looking for fraud. :)

As such her interests run further afield than public companies (including a special hatred for Milwaukee Public schools). In particular she likes to expose MLM (multi level marketing) schemes.

And that to be honest is why I read the site, because as you can imagine the MLM devotees are cult-like in their devotion to getting suckered and their attacks in the comments section are hilarious !

Lately there hasn't been too much about stocks and what has been there has been derivative of what has appeared elsewhere.

Anyway it doesn't need to be a daily read or even weekly read for active investors/traders, but it's a very good site to know and bookmark. I always check her site to make sure any investment I'm considering hasn't been a target of her interest.

One of the few site I trust with scam and fraud reviews/expose. they have info about different schemes and biz. Great site to find out how to avoid being scammed and schemes to avoid.

Great site!

This is a great blog for anything fraud. I'm happy that there are people like Tracy Coenen helping protect where regulators seem to fail. She has lots of insightful analysis of many of the stories she writes about.

She writes a lot about MLM and makes the assumption that any MLM scheme is bad. I will agree to the point of saying that MOST MLM schemes are bad, but I believe the model can work as long as the focus is on the product and not on the people selling the product. It's all a matter of incentives.

Overall, a great blog, but a boring read. I recommend checking out the blog if you have concerns that something may be fraudulent because the blog may very well have an answer for you.

Great Investigator

Tracy digs and digs and digs to get to the botom of frauds and scams...especially MLMs....and you should all read her work and admire it as I do. She is a rare class, along with Melissa Davis from TheStreetSweeper, that should scammers should live in fear of. It's too bad she doesn't focus on penny stocks or else I'd be linking to her investigative techniques and posts every day--most of her writing is meant to save the gullible...she should learn to make perfectly honest money by short selling penny stock scams along with the rest of us :)

Very good!

Almost as good as Street Sweeper, the author as at Street Sweeper as plenty of experience in the field and it shows. The blog is great, it delves into frauds and scams and provides excellent analysis. All in all, a very good blog!
