The professional trader's mentor.

When I first became a professional prop trader, many of the very successful traders with decades of experience would often reference "Kirk" throughout each trading session. I had no idea who Charles Kirk was at that time; eventually I mustered up the courage to ask a veteran trader who "Kirk" was. (Please keep in mind that when I say veteran; I mean 30+ years as a professional trader and more than a few years Kirk's senior.) The recommendations from he and a handful of other expert traders whom I hold in high esteem made clear that I had no choice but to sign up for The Kirk Report.

My journey as a trader has been very similar to many other traders. It's a very tough business - even if one is profitable out of the gate. I visited the Kirk Report daily with mixed results for the first few months. Again, keep in mind I was very green to professional trading at this time. Often I would find myself becoming angry with the markets not doing "what I thought they should be doing." I stopped visiting the Kirk Report for a few months; not because I blamed Kirk for my frustrations with the markets, but perhaps because I wasn't ready for him yet. About the same time (or shortly thereafter) I suffered a cold streak which inflicted a fair amount of damage to my trading account. This truly ended up being a blessing in disguise.

I took a few months off from trading while attempting to nurse my prop account back to a healthy balance. However, even though I wasn't trading as I had been prior, my daily routine didn't change. I awoke at the same time every morning, did the same research, stayed firmly in my seat for the entire US trading session, spoke to and participated in conversations with dozens of traders as if I was actively trading to the degree I had been prior, and conducted my nightly research just as I had for many months (5 years actually, but in a different market-related job function). Although hindsight gives the impression I possessed a great deal of discipline to be able to take a step back and reassess my mistakes - little could've been further from reality. Truth be told, money to trade or not; I knew for years professional trading was my higher calling. By taking the pressure off of myself to produce, I was able to become much more objective in my interpretation of price action. It was at this point in my personal journey that I received an email from Kirk's assistant:

"Hi (name withheld), we noticed you haven't been visiting the Kirk Report as often as you used to. Is everything okay on your end? Is there anything we can do to better address your needs as a trader?"

If you don't already know, Kirk's membership is literally the best value anywhere in the trading community at $100/year. Kirk's assistant wasn't emailing to keep me on board as a subscriber (I was already paid up for many months to come!). It was a genuine inquiry that I appreciated greatly. At that point I began to visit the Kirk Report again. "The Weekend Chart Show" became my Sunday morning ritual right after reading Barron's with a hot cup of joe.

As I am growing as a trader, I find The Kirk Report a more valuable resource every time I visit each day. Even though it would seem there are not a lot of bells and whistles on the site, my own assessment is that I only effectively take full advantage of 30% - 40% of the information available. Every tool one needs to become a wildly successful trader is there for the taking for $100/year.

However, and I don't think I'm off base in saying this, becoming a successful trader starts with one's willingness to be honest with themselves first. Secondly, one must possess self efficacy that becoming a professional trader is their only option in being true to their own happiness and purpose in life. Finally, when one goes through these peaks and valleys (as I have) and still shows up every day with their eyes wide open, Kirk will be there. Thanks Kirk :)

Best investment I ever made

The Kirk Report membership provided me with the best bang for the buck from all the money I've put in my trading education. Charles is an honest guy, who works hard at making a living from trading markets and teaching the rest of us how to do this successfully.

He adopts the "don'-give-them-a-fish-but-teach-them-to-fish" philosophy which is pretty much the only option for long-term trading success. Unless you develop your own trading edge, and improve all your skills on a daily basis, the market will take your money away eventually.

Kirk Report provides pre and post market daily reports, and a real-time notebook where Charles highlights the important developments throughout the trading hours. The Prospector highlights the most promising ETFs and stocks for bullish or bearish setups. The educational posts are excellent, and the books he recommends are very good (as I've read quite few of them).

Probably the biggest help you could get from him would be if you're accepted in the mentorship group and trade along him and other members of the group for few months. There are many applicants though for the mentorship, so getting in is not easy.

There might be other excellent trading/investment resources out there, but I couldn't yet find one that provides a better value for your money then Kirk Report.

Trading Education for Everyone

The Kirk Report provides traders with education and guidance on technical trading. His approach teaches investors how to think, not what to think. He consistently demonstrates his two decades of experience through entries in his daily Notebook. Through his Notebook, a member can follow Kirk's replicable workflow each morning. This offers Pre-market reports of where and why he thinks the market directions. During the day Kirk offers regular updates on his observed patterns and relevant articles. He ends the day with an After market report. He offers Weekend video Chart Shows that typically last about 30 minutes. In all, his information is never bloated, but concise and insightful. His links to other articles and websites are typically concise and meant to educate a point through another perspective. This gives credit to his argument by offering the opinions of others.

His guidance does not pick stocks, but rather teaches members how to read technical patterns, how to invest by following the price action and not emotion or wishes. He teaches a disciplined approach to investing that can be emulated. Importantly, Kirk offers members the means to learn from his examples, but encourages members to develop their own plans and strategies to investing, whether it be intraday or with longer positions lasting weeks or months. Kirk encourages everyone to identify what works best for themselves.

In addition to the reports and weekend chart shows, Kirk offers examples of stock picks with his justification shown through technical pattern analysis in his Prospector. He also provides book recommendations and even lists the tools he uses including computer and brand of chair! In doing so, Kirk shows he is real. This is reenforced by his minimal member fee that does not seek to profit from his site. Kirk puts his reputation and analysis out front as examples to follow. He always offers best, worst, and what he thinks will happen with the markets. He intelligently considers alternative perspectives, and then argues his view.

As a member of his site for the past couple years, I have found Kirk to be extremely dedicated and consistent to his educational approach and desire to help members. He listens to feedback in a timely manner, and evolves the website as needed over time by added, removing, or improving features for members. The site is easy to use, straight forward, and presents information neatly, just like his analysis. I highly recommended the Kirk Report for the beginner or more experienced technical trader.

Everyman's Guide to the Market

Some comments concerning the Kirk Report:

I'm a retired teacher and small time investor who has been a member from the early 2000s.

This time frame has provide me a chance to observe the evolution of the Kirk Report over the years. Charles Kirk has worked non-stop to make it a terrific site designed to help the small investor.

The Kirk report is an outstanding financial educational site for all those trying to learn how to understand and deal with the stock market. Its cost is low and its focus on charts and technicals has been consistent across the years. Over those years, Kirk has revamped and streamlined the Report to the level of excellence seen (and heard) today. Especially helpful for me have been Kirk's Weekend Chart Show and Strategy Reports, which have been a guide through the intricacies of the market. Moreover, he offers a variety of tools and resources, which enable his clients, if they so wish, to branch out and trade under their own steam. Kirk has been consistent, is affable, experienced and knowledgeable, has no hidden agenda, communicates well and offers mentorships for those who wish to study with him. All of this for a very low fee. It is obvious that though he is a very busy trader with a full personal life, he is willing to spend a considerable amount of his time and energy, giving back - guiding those of us, who listen to his show and read his website, through the ups and downs of 'the market' with calmness and a steady hand. How rare is that in this world today?

Trustworthy info; intelligent, respectful, and positive.

As a brand new, naive investor, I was completely overwhelmed by data and news. I was so lost that I thought I could never find my way through. I had no one to turn to for help, and I was afraid.

I had heard of 'The Kirk Report' and I decided that it might be a match for me after reviewing the site.

I have been a member for 7 months, and every day I am thankful for this membership. Because of it, I have progressed at a rate that is amazing to me. It has been hard, stressful work, but I've spent my time working on the right things because of this site.

The world that was so overwhelming to me at this time last year is now narrowing into a small, manageable set of tasks that work for me. Of all the things I've bought to help me on this journey, this is one of the few things I'll keep as I continue to learn and grow. The positive energy alone is worth the cost of the membership.

Daily wisdom for the trader

Everything that The Kirk Report offers gives me a good general awareness of what`s happenigs in the markets throuhout the day.No fluff just the facts that keeps me on my toes.

I really look forward to the Weekend show which is a great rap up of the week and a look forward to the coming week

The Prospctor offers stock picks and ETFs which can prove to be very profitable.

Very useful unbiased view of the market

I have been reading the Kirk Report daily for over a year now and I find Charles Kirk's approach one of the most straightforward balanced view of the market. His weekly chart show reviews the week that was mainly for the S&P500 and looks ahead to the coming week. His analysis is based on price patterns. I may not always see what he sees but he covers what may or may not happen in the markets, alerting you to different scenarios. Recent changes allow you to watch the weekly chart show on you mobile devices, which adds the the usefulness of the site.

Be a trader...

Though I'm still new to trading, I've learned much more than I would have expected in a short time thanks in no small part to Charles E. Kirk and The Kirk Report.

His method is for the Kirk Report subscriber to learn and grow and become their own trader with their own ideas and unique skills rather than blindly following a list of ETFs and stocks. Kirk provides a wealth of educational resources, interviews and daily advice for any type of trader. For me the most helpful of these tools is his Chart Show, where Kirk reviews the market indices and sector performances of the week. I always come away from each show with some new bit of advice or technical knowledge.

The Kirk Report has been a very positive influence on my trading and skills development as well as a great resource for market guidance, advice and personal growth and learning.

You can't be a good trader if you don't know why a stock might be worth trading, and The Kirk Report is one of the best resources available to learn how.
