It could be cheapter 7 updated more often

They used to be the leader in charting but they are just an old company that refuses to get with the times.. their platform is very heavy and their fees are completely ridiculous compared to the NinjaTrader version which is freeeee!!

Good tool for active and swing traders alike...

TradeStation is a solid platform with plenty of trading tools and indicators (both in-house and 3rd party). Users can program their own indicators, strategies and trading signals using Easy Language which is generally user friendly but does take some time in which to become proficient. Data is generally very fast and reliable with the option of picking different data streams.

Pros: TradeStation is able to handle a large number of RT screens tracking different stocks and commodities without bogging down.

Cons: The only real negative is that traders either have to set up a trading account with Tradestation securities or pay a lot more for the platform.

I'm leaving positive feedback for Trade Station because while many have had issues the last few weeks with their charts keeping up with the extreme volume in the market, I've experienced NO lag in either my charts or my orders. They have been extremely reliable even in this volatile market.

Great platform...analysis tools

This is a very practical, intuitive platform loaded with features for technical analysis of stocks, commodities, options and forex and backtesting strategies. Platform is free if you meet the minimum volume requirements each month, otherwise a bit expensive for certain lower volume day trading strategies. Use it primarily to manage retirement and investment portfolios.

Fees not too bad but could be lower for FX trading...pip spread plus fixed fee for less than standard lot size. Give up quite a bit on a 2-3 lot mini trade.

Overall, a great platform.

User friendly

I have at least 3 friends who use TradeStation to trade everything. They really like it, esp. the user friendliness, customer serivice, EasyLanguage, and the software program. Great for traders who can't watch their stocks throughout the day but want to be in on the the big price surges or declines or breakdown in technicals. My friends seem not to mind the fact that IB is so much cheaper.

they're ranked #1 for a reason

TradeStation is definitely among the best for a reason. The platform is truly amazing, the customer support is even better, and the entire "customer experience" is first-class without a doubt. If you trade more than 5k shares/month, the platform and scanner is free, with minor exchange fees (i.e. $4/month for NYSE/NASDAQ/AMEX). And for the price, wow you definitely can't beat it. More customizations than almost any other brokerage, complex and conditional orders supported, etc. And charting, scanning, rule-based trading, backtesting, automation, EVERYTHING is just beautiful and fully supported and reliable and amazing. The community is extremely active, and there are forum answers to almost every question, no matter how detailed. This is definitely a brokerage for life. I've been with them for two years, and despite many other brokerages that have fallen by the wayside, Tradestation will be my broker for life. They also enforce Pattern Day Trading mechanically, meaning you physically cannot go over PDT regulations. It's electronically impossible. This is very nice for discipline :-). Tradestation is amazing. Their commissions are a little high, but it's worth it for the platform and the service and mechanically-enforced discipline.

Not too happy

There are lots of little things with TS that irritate me..... The EZ Language is nice but lots of alerts and datafeeds just don't execute an efficient, timely way.... I think you can find other apps to do the same thing more efficiently.... The account managment is not good, difficulties transfering money.... changing account statuses.... the platform fees seem high, there is a reason the tradestation stock price failed to perform over the years.

I have not used TradeStation personally. However, 2 very active traders that I keep in touch with love it. we send each other charts and I'm impressed with their tools and the setting that can be applied to indicators & oscillators.

Platform fee??

I like tradestation, in my opinion it is user friendly and very easy to learn. the only problem that i have with them is the platform fee. the software and application does the job. but i dont see paying 9$ plus on a trade plus 99$ platform fee.

If TS is the best out there how come they dont have a web based platform that you can access anywhere.
