auto-closeout 45mins before expiration

Trademonster will auto-closeout any ITM(in the money) or close to ATM(at the money) short options at about 45mins before expiration even if the spreads are properly covered. As a result, it not possible to legitimately trade calendars, ITM credit spreads, butterflies(where the short strike is in the money or close to) and etc. TradeMonster's auto-closeout policy does not allow the time value to decay in the last 45mins or so at expiration even if all the spreads mentioned before are properly covered. Because of their auto-closeout policy, many potentially profitable option strategies are not doable at TradeMonster.

They do everything pretty good not not really anything great. A much, much better choice than a lot of the brokers out there. Good order entry, good commissions and good customer service. Not the cheapest commissions (Interactive Brokers) or the best order entry (Think or Swim)

Great trading platform for Option trader

This is must have broker for Option trader.

Some of useful tools that not available else where for free: ( LiveVol Pro is better but it's cost $250/month)

ImpVol Daily Change

Daily Unusual Volatility, Option Interest, Option Volume.

Trademonster let you trade multi-leg option strategies with no minimum balance require.

Compare some brokers that i'm using:

Trademonster: View positions by option strategies. This is great when you have a lot of multi-leg positions. GTC multi-leg option orders. OK commission. Recognia.com Tool is available for free

Optionhouse : Doesn't list positions by option strategies. Cheaper cost. Not allow GTC multi-leg positions order.

Choicetrade: Basic Platform. Cheapest commission in my opinion. Quite good multi-legs order execute. Allow GTC multi-legs order. Fast ACH deposit

TDAmeritrade: Great ThinkorSwim/StrategyDesk software. Great research/ideas tool. No fee. High commission.

Those are four brokers that I'm using for Option trading. (+LiveVol Pro)



Had try: Tradeking, Sogotrade, Zecco, Eoption, IB, Fidelity, ShareBuilder.

Tradeking and IB is great too but four brokers above are what I'm using.

These guys SUCK! Worst broker I haver EVER used!

If you are going to sign up for Auto Trade you need to select another broker! While using BookingAlpha as my trade advisor BookingAlpha issued a trade alert with specific instructions to TradeMonster. TradeMonster completely ignored their trading instructions and opened a trade AGAINST BookingAlpha's specific instructions. By the time I caught their mistake - their screw up cost me well over 1,100.00. When I confronted TradeMonster with facts at first I was just blown off. After I persisted they then supplied me with a bunch of reasons why they were not at fault. It was all B.S. Bottom line, if these guys screw up they will NOT make good on it....PERIOD. I highly recomend using BookingAlpha for options trading but DO NOT use TradeMonster as your autotrade broker!!! Use TradeKing or any others but by all means stay away from TradeMonster or it is just a matter of time before you get nailed like I did.

Good but scope for improvement

We did have some issues with orders getting filled and the price it got filled for. But overall a good broker and with improvements in order execution it can do quite well.

I have no complaints with Trade Monster only praise, their online platform is great, ultra user friendly and their recently launched iphone/blackberry app an excellent addition. As one of the “younger” online brokers they do their best to continually update and improve resulting in a powerful suite of browser based analysis tools. I personally love that their news feeds have the option to include twitter feeds also. My friend and I both opened up accounts at the same time but he decided to go with Lightspeed and this has resulted in a good comparative study. He seems to have a lot of issues with their platform and customer service, my account was opened much quicker and the money deposited well before him. He is now switching to TradeMonster, need I say more. Well one last thing, for beginners the paper trading account is the best out there and you have nothing to loose in trying it out.

Reasonable Commissions & great Trading Software

Love the paper trading with options that they have on their platform. Hard to find a good one of those, entering multi-leg orders is easy and the P&L diagrams are very helpful.
