Very easy to use and low cost

I used Zecco as my first broker . Zecco is very user friendly and easy to use website with a great interface. Very low cost broker , one of the cheapest out there. Excellent easy to use platform for trading , though it is better suited for swing traders or investors as it might not be that quick for day traders as its a retail broker and does not offer direct ECN access. Zecco does however offer the best options tools and a great customer service with live chat and phone line along with email support which usually replies within 1 business day. All in all very good broker , no problems whatsoever , wire transfer were done the same day as well.

its meant for swing traders or people who hold the stock for a few hours + for day traders , may not be ideal.

Not bad for the new investor

Zecco is not a bad discount broker. They offer relatively cheap trades compared to big brokers. Ive been with zecco for about a year and have had some problems with the old clearing firm penson but now they have switched after the erger which will hopefully bring good things. Overall i would say tha zecco is a good choice for someone who is just starting out or someone who likes to trade penny stocks without getting slammed with ridiculous trade prices.

Almost a month long of system glitches (with the merger)

Long story short - wait 6 months before you move your money in here from the date of this review.

Zecco recently switched clearing houses away from Penson and merged with Tradeking recently. Problems *could* be expected from these activities but ongoing and affecting trading hours are unacceptable. Here's what's happened over in the past few months.

1) account erroneously flagged as margin including bogus margin calls (they disappeared). Cash transactions were marked as margin, and $0 dollar transactions added. Some accounts also restricted from trading

2) Cash balances wiped out entirely from above screwup. Account issues took around 2 weeks to resolve. A temporary balance was at least credited once for trading activity in the case of account balance being wiped out during conversion to margin account but then...

3) website is completely down today.

Zecco does NOT offer compensated broker assisted trades while their system is clearly at fault so you are paying for their mistakes.

When the system does work, trades execute reasonably and it isn't hard to get a hold of customer service. However I would wait till the dust settles and regret having anything to do with them right now. They should definitely not be a primary trading account. I've been a client for less than 6 months and things were reasonable enough for me to up my deposit but cavaet emptor for the remainder of the year I would say until they've proven themselves competent again

Best Value for Traders

After this merger, and all of the products they offer, $4.95 trades. Is great for an additional broker account.

Well worth the time to signup and create a trading account with them!!

This is a good company for everything except.....

one thing. If you like to short sell, than Zecco is not your company at all. However, the customer service was very good and the execution was fast with cheap commissions. The charts and the graphs were just okay. They were not great or terrible, but decent. Because of the cheap commission and the quality customer service, I would recommend Zecco. However, even with that, I would not recommend Zecco for short selling, because I don"t think it even exist. As long as you know that going into it, in my opinion, it is good for what you pay for.

The commission charges are low but one needs to question its speed of transaction.

It's OK!

Zecco i'ts ok!! I do my trades with them and they are not impressive at all. Their platform is pretty basic for trading. They do not have such a good platform as Sogotrade but on the other hand I can trade pennystocks and pink sheets with them.

Gone from crap to crappier

Zecco used to offer a great deal, especially if you were swing trading penny stocks. They had low fees and many incentive structures to gain free trades. They recently dropped all of that, though, bringing their level of effectiveness to nearly zero. There is much better bang for your buck out there than what Zecco has to offer.

Great for those with limited capital

I chose zecco because I have a very small account right now and zecco offered the lowest commissions. I don't even meet the minimum requirements to be approved at other brokers because I am a full-time student with no notable annual income. For others like myself, I would definitely recommend zecco despite their lack of useful tools.

Cheap

This is probably the cheapest brokerage in terms of stock execution fee. The only problem is that they don't have their own software and some of the features could be better. I know the discussion groups that they have are useless as no one is really active on them.
