The Bank

Good business movie

My economics professor showed the class, which has well over 100 students this movie and everyone enjoyed it. It basically describes a talented mathematician who thinks he has devised a formula to predict the fluctuations of the stock market and gain large profits. It is very entertaining and in my opinion, it is one of the top 20 movies in business i have seen thus far.

Great Find

I found this movie on investimonials a few hours ago and literally just finished watching it, I may have to use this site for finding good movies more often. I really enjoyed this film and am surprised that I did not know it existed until now. The plot of the movie is good and keeps you on your toes, and there were several twists that I did not see coming.

The stock aspect of the movie was really interesting as well, even though the movie is from 2001 it showed some interesting stock principles like short selling. Overall it is a solid film that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys financial movies.

Holy Grail

I like this (the illusory search of the holy grail) This is good. I like the characters, the boss (pretty a no bulls**t guy). There's a talk between the boss and red hair guy (the guy who's trying to figure out the holy grail) in a scene where they're up in the balcony, overlooking the traders in the pit, and they have a talk on what it takes to be a successful trader (that was a good scene) and they have another scene where they're on the top floor of a building where they talk about how much money they wanna make. I like it. It's a good watch for any trader.

Great movie

Terrific movie, great production, acting, storyline, music..... very compelling. It is very engaging, kind of original, I enjoyed it. It is really a clever plot.

You MUST see this movie

Quite frankly, the Bank is one of the best movies that I have ever seen. I'd rate it right there with Bridge on the River Kwai and the Searchers. It has excellent cinematography and a music track just made for the movie. The story line is compulsive. The movie grabs you in the firt five minutes and sweeps you along on a wonderful ride. David Wenham is superb in the lead role. He is a man on a mission and subverts the bank that has lusted after his mathematical smarts. I haven't seen such a grand movie since Lovers of the Arctic Circle. You MUST see this movie.

good film

This film is a great example of Less is more. No car chases, nobody gets murdered, hardly any sex. All it has is good writing, good dialog, excellent acting, imaginative filming and special effects and music.
