Overall loser

I never really liked the format of this concept, but warmed up a little when I learned about how they were doing the autotrading and duplicated the same for my manual trading. That is, have a stop loss, and then a trailing stop once you're up a certain percentage. Well, it seemed like a good idea, but overall, the trades didn't work.

I traded on and off with them since November 2010. I only did the Special Plays. Of the 12 months I did trade with them, only one month was a winning month. My performance:

33 winning trades, averaging 19.9%

45 losing trades, averaging -23.3%

That's only 42% winners.

Doesn't take a math wiz to figure out that negative expected return.

No thanks. And stay away from the hype of their posted returns. They are theoretical if you can call perfect tops. The autotraded results are more accurate. Check out those. The Core Strategy was a large loser in 2011, and the Special Plays was only moderately profitable - like $2000 for the year based on $2000 per trade. After paying for the subscription, you might have enough for a cup of coffee, IF you joined at the right time. There was a $4000+ drawdown early in the year, and a massive $8000 drawdown at the end of the year.

Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover

I've been with this site on and off a few times. I really liked it initially but something happened as it seems his whole trading style changed. I get it that an options site needs to post good returns in order to attract new blood. But it started to look as though he was just sending out trades already in mid move which you could not get into in time or had to at a much different buy in. Then the option would continue its run and fizzle and he would then post the absolute highest point it reached. The return posted may be the potential but my issue revolves around the realities of such as no one exits at the top time and time again. His returns are very misleading imo and he has removed previous comprehensive statistics on his performance page that had all the years since he began and started over fresh Jan 1 2012. He never responds to email as well.

No one is perfect and there is going to be losses in option trading. There's no way around that. Just don't base your decision on the returns posted on the site, instead look at the autotrade results. That's more of the real picture.

Okay Service, No Active Management of Alerts

I joined them for a brief period and decided to cancel. The gains look fancy, but the calculations of gains are not the way one would have interpreted. Overall, one will get a lot of alerts though closing is more based on stop losses rather than active management. Maybe I could have made money! It was too short of an engagement for me to assess this service. It may be a good piece of information for further investigation for the people thinking of joining this subscription. It may be a good idea to try skptionstrading, smartmarketkeys, activeinvestoronline, etc.

Not Impressed...

Performance results are totally pie in the sky...The way this service works just does not make much sense to me. Could be my bad luck to join at a tough time but I do not feel confident in the system (if there is one) .

This is one of the expensive advisory i subscribed. Past result is based on max what you can gain, and not achieveable in reality.

Lost His Way

I subscribed based on the great reviews. I started off well for a few weeks. I came to understand that the best way to trade these picks was to use reasonable targets and sell with limit orders, especially on the CORE picks. The performance listed on the site is the maximum excursion of the option during the trading period, and cannot be achieved in real time. But if you can use the statistics to achieve a certain percentage 80% of the time or more, that's what you go for.

Problem was, he didn't adjust well when market conditions changed. Trades used to be swing trades of a few days duration, but then mainly got to be day trades, and there was a very long string of losers. He does generally keep his losers small, but lots and lots of losers add up. If he makes up for this, it might be by having the occasional big winner. Recently he had a big winner in FFIV - but it was a huge gamble he held through earnings.

The CORE plays had a couple straight losing months. In April, he said market conditions weren't right to play them, but on Monday morning he played them anyway. Glad I didn't make the trades. All losers.

I felt like I was going broke trying to trade this service. The monster wins can be few and far between. I didn't think he gave the many options much room to move, because he'd abandon the trade sometimes within the hour, but a longer hold and they would have reversed.

It all felt pretty haphazard to me.

He does post autotrading results on the site, and they're not too impressive.

Nice guy and he's been doing this a long time, and there's a possibility that it was just my bad luck to join at a bad time. I tried it for about 6 months and lost more than I made.

A Sound Strategy that should backbone your Portfolio

Having been a member of the family for over 4 years now, I can say I have been there through it all. The ups the downs and the in betweens. I was able to successfully create my own trading style and approach using the fundamentals in the Core Strategy. I have found a way to always be there for the big runs while not getting too careless. This Strategy is one of a few I use to trade in my day to day and I thank Dave every chance that I have. --Jerry--

One of the best options services

I tried few options services. In terms of consistency and performance, this is probably one of the best services. The published performance is based on the high of the option value, so obviously you won't get those results. You have to manage your exits, but if you set reasonable targets, you should do very well.

I know this is gonna sound like hyberbole, but believe me its not.

Options Intelligence has two strategies: Special Plays & Core

Special Plays

Special Plays is about 8-10 trades a month. There arent any exit strategies given on any of the plays. I autotrade them with Trade Wallstreet Financial under Plan A. Plan A is a 25% hard stop with a 15% trail stop placed once the option crosses +15%. You can also set additional sell limit orders if you would like.

I have the fills from trade wallstreet if anyone want to look at them. you can expect about 10-11% per trade on average on special plays with very few losses. and your losses are capped at -25%. excellent service and it only costs $200 every 3 months.



Core:

Outstanding service, very unique. Only plays ATM calls during options expiring week each month. Again no exit alerts are given and no stops should be used. But its unreal how easy is to make money on them by using simple limit orders.

I trade only the QQQQ each core and nothing else and I set my limit order at +30% without any stops. Here is today's trade:

autotrade buys the core plays 5 min. before market close on friday before expiration week. I set the limit order over the weekend and usually I sell for a profit at market open.

I know this sounds too good to be true. It does require proper risk management and discipline, but OI has the best directional options plays on the internet period.

Momentum options trading

River oaks options

Pearly Gates

and the list goes on. nothing beats OI. Also its run by one guy, Dave. He is like a friend on your side and always answers emails promptly without fail. I have nothing to gain from recommending this site. I feel like Dave deserves it after he has made me so much money over the last year. I hope you guys give it a try. again please free to email me at anytime and i will try to give you tips on how both services work. I wasnt very successful at first, because there arent any Exit alerts given, but pretty soon i got the method down.
