Good for professional TA's

If you're a professional TA working in the US then you are probably already a member of the MTA. If like me you're a part-time trader who uses technical analysis to help with your trading then there is not much point joining this association.

I joined thinking it might help me to learn more about technical analysis in the hope that I might study for their diploma. However I was disappointed to find out that I would be able to become accredited as I didn't work for a bank/broker etc. This took the edge of my motivation to study for their course and I've since left the MTA.

Positive for the industry

This industry needs more organizations like this promoting transparency and ethics. There is so much garbage out there this is a huge positive for the industry.
