What more can you ask for?
I registered for this service looking for quality trades. Did OptionRun provide me with quality trades? Yes!! I could not ask for anything more in that they provide me trading opportunities that work! They never will exceed 4 open trades, and with me allocating 10% into each trade of total account value my risk is minimal.

OptionRun has provided me with an exceptional start to 2013 and this is the only reason why I would bother writing a review. It's the least I can do.

Thrilled
I personally autotrade their service with TD and I for one can say that over the last 4 months my returns have been my best yet in the 12 years of trading that I've been involved with. I cannot comment on anything else but I will gladly pay $100 per month for these returns. They do not overtrade or chase, which I applaud, and always monitor the position and seem to exit at the best time for maximized gains. Again, thrilled with them!

Annualized 2.93% return per year based on monthly avg return
This is partly due to my stupidity of getting roped in... for the 3rd time, but it is what it is. They love to comment on how many winning runs they have...which is great but they fail to mention their lossing runs as well. Unless you can withstand looking at 40-60% losses in your account then you may want to steer clear. Once you sign up for their service they give you what their picks have been in the past (since 2007) do yourself a favor...ANALYZE IT. After reviewing avg gains for months closed on positions you will find that (as of Feb 7, 2013) they have made a cumulative 94K from 2007 Assuming a 10K investment amonth. But it took 620K to in purchases to do that. Which means since inception they have made 15.12% total... Annualized that is only 2.93% per year...Sorry but if i am risking up to 60% of my purchase it is not worth 2.93% a year. Our stock system produces 3-6% per month and we just buy stocks!

So in my opinion if you get a promotion, go ahead and do it...but before you trade, analyze their most up to date alerts results first... and then decide then. For us it isn't even close to being worth the 99/mo for 2.93% return per year.

They are also not very consistant on how many trades they send out a month, it is all over the board therefore it is hard to determine how much to "wager" on each position. We used $572 per position (which is the 620K / Total # of trades since inception. (using this senario the return is actually 2.34% vers the straight 10K per month.)

All together I would say with their service we lost about 5K from subscribing and the trials that we have done.

Monitor Your Own Account
Go to their FAQ. You will read that you have to monitor your own account. What that means is you can't tell them to cancel your account at the end of your billing cycle. They cancel the day you call them, no matter how much time you have left on your subscription. So if you want to be able to use your subscription for the time you paid for but then not renew, you have to call them the day it expires. Of course if you don't remember to call them that day, you get charged

This is the only newsletter that I am aware of where you couldn't tell them in advance not to renew you when your subscription ran up. Since they put it in their FAQ I would guess they get a lot of complaints about it so they want to be able to say you were told that's how they run it.

In my opinion: STAY AWAY!!!

under-hand business practices and a joke of a business
I used OptionRun for 1 month in 2011 (I believe it was August). I didn't like the service and cancelled. About 2 weeks ago, mid-December 2012, I received an e-mail from them about a 2 week free trial. I ignored the e-mail because I didn't want to use their free trial. I didn't log into their website or access their website. I just got a charge to my credit card from OptionRun. They have no contact us page on their website and the phone number associated with the charge is "conveniently" a wrong number. Another number I found online was out of service. When I did finally find the working number, there was no answer and I have since had to leave 4 voicemails that have not been responded to. That's 4 voicemails and 3 e-mails and not 1 response. Yet I keep getting e-mails about the trades they are entering and exiting.

I now have to contact my credit card company and change my card information. They shouldn't have my credit card on file from over 1.5 years ago and they definitely should not have charged my credit card with no authorization.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS WEBSITE AND THIS SHADY COMPANY. Seymour Financial, LLC. is a sham and I can't stress this enough. Do not sign up for this website.

They would'nt authorize my subscription@ autotrade broker
I had a two week trial at optionrun. I opened and funded account at an autotrade broker. I set it up to autotrade optionrun. When checking the status I read a notation "waiting for autorization" from newsletter. After a couple days I sent optionrun a friendly reminder email. No change. The next day I sent them another. Still nothing. On the next day I called and left friendly voice mail. Its now been a week since my account has been open and funded. Waiting for authorization from optionrun to begin trading. I do'nt know what you can say about a company that acts like that "unprofessional" "incompetant" do'nt seem strong enouph

Cattivo servizio

Vivamente sconsigliato

Valuable but...
I've been with OptionRun for a little over a year now and I honestly believe they are highly entertaining. I've been through a few rough patches with them (Aug10 - Sep10 and also May11). However, they are by far the most accurate i've encountered based on the volume of trades they generate. As a subscriber i've learned to be very strict with money management in following their trades. Once I see a "run" thats typically when I will push my trade allocation a bit and try to profit just a tad more then usual. I do have to say I've done well with OptionRun, in fact between October of 2010 through March of 2011 it was unreal but when a losing streak occurs, and they do, then learn to pull-back and wait for the next run. If individual does not work proper money management and keeps the same allocation through these cycles then they will get no where.

One complaint I do have is the number of trades produced at times. But I guess this is why I pay a subscription, for trade ideas. Another complain I do have is the stops. I understand they deal with rather cheap option contracts at times but if there stop loss was say 25% then the profits would be much more. So the best advice I can provide is work your own stops! It has worked very well for me.

Overall I do indeed love the service and what they provide. I have had success but implament your own tweaks for better profits. I now only care about the alerts they generate and I use my own judgement and analysis for stops\targets. The alerts are what makes this site valuable. Over the last year the success ratio is unmatched in my eyes. Hope this helps.

Very volatile, long losing streaks
I can only confirm what previous reviewers said. The service might be profitable in the long term, but if you start at the wrong time, you might not get to the long term.

The last few weeks have been a complete disaster. He keeps saying that the market conditions are tough. But what you do when the market conditions are tough and you have one loser after another? You trade less till you are back on track. But in May he made 38 trades! The performance page stops at April 6, so you don’t see all the losses of the last 6-7 weeks.

Another problem is the choice of strikes. He trades cheap out of the money options, average option cost is about $0.50 with some options cost $0.20. Commissions will add up very quickly with those options. Even with the cheapest broker, the commissions could account for 5-8% of the option value. Also those cheap options many times will gap through the stop loss and cause 60-70% loss even with 50% stop.

Risk Taking
OptionRun.com is an Option Website that does one direction Call/Put Plays: or $99/month

These guys are not looking to buyCalls on oversold/value stocks or Buy Puts on Overpriced/growth stocks. NO, they look to purchase Calls on Momentum Breakouts, and Puts on Chart Breakdowns. Most of the time they purchase Call/Put Options once the stock has made a considerable move upwards or downwards, by the time you buy the options your really just Hoping for follow through.

I investigated their annual results Starting from November 2007. The good news is they are very good in volatile years. 2008 was OptionRuns best year, in fact they made such a high return in 2008, that i beats their 2007,2009 and 2010 records combined.

The downside to using OptionRun.com is their accuracy of trades and losses. I have been trying to figure out how to make more money with them by tweaking the stop loss. When they send out a new alert, the stop loss is almost always 50%. However, as momentum traders understand...if the stock has not moved in the desired direction for 2-3 days you should just sell out...but these guys wait many times until they get hit with the 50% loss. If you take into the bid ask spread...by the time your 50% stop gets it, it's really going to end up a 55-57% loss because you have to sell at the bid(at market). After doing a study of their 2011 results I noticed that they could more than double their performance by having a 30% stop loss (Yes I did take into account all the winners they had, and how many of their winners would be stopped out due to a narrow stop). My opinion is that you could go as narrow as 15%-20%. Another problem with their stops is that if they invest in an option position worth approximatively 40cents or less...then they wont even place a stop!?!?! Either they will make money on the position or lose the ENITRE 100%...to me that is just pure reckless!

If your not one to handle 50% losses this services will e extremely nerve racking. My best advice is to paper trade, or see how the results change by using a 50% stop loss. Historically these guys have had 662 since November 6,2007. 287 trades were losers: averaging: 56% loss, On the plus side they had 375 winning trades (a bias being in 2007) averaging: 75.84%.

Losing Trades Since Inception: 287

Winning Trades Since Inception: 375

Accuracy: 56% (So only 56% of the time you will avg: 75% the rest of the time you will lose avg: 56%.....like I said this service can be nerve racking)

Trading Results: Not consistent, but profitable in the long run (they have huge potential to become very profitable if they would ONLY tighten their STOP LOSS!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Customer Service: Very friendly

Billing: Never any problems

Price: Given their results at first glance...I think anyone would pay $99/month for their service....however, the reality is you could end up starting their service and losing money right off the batt.....perhaps 4-6 trades will be 50% losers before you make any money. I recommend trading small in the beginning. You will quickly realize that a tighter stop is necessary

Overall: Use a small amount of money 200-500 per position, tight stops, enjoy the trade.

The service is not really worth $99 given the fact that you could start losing money as soon as you join. They should try to make you money immediately to lock in subscribers...but they just let positions hang out their until you get stopped out nearly 40% for an average of a 56% loss....it's nerve racking.....However I would recommend this service as a starting point into the world of trading options
