Ritholz is one of the best market commentators because he has a good grasp of the big picture from an economics point of view but also brings the perspective of a successful trader to the table. He is funny and also pretty cynical. Enjoy the blog.

I have been following the site for about a year now, and I love it. Great economic/finance content that is not only interesting but also easy to understand and follow. The author is not trying to impress anybody with how many investment terms he can fit in an article like similar sites do.

Daily Must Read

Barry's blog is on my short list of daily must reads. He provides great honest macro commentary on the market, economy and politics and tries to remain as honest and independent as possible. Great links to graphics and articles from around the net, a solid aggregator of current information of interest. Highly recommended, this blog will likely become part of your daily routine as well.

Past its' Prime but still Prime

Barry Ritholtz is pretty much the OG of stock blogging. As far as I know he was the first one to appear on television and his blog was the first to be commercially viable and be respected. He also runs FusionIQ (fusioniqrank.com) an analytical software platform that combines TA and FA to give you the best stocks for position trades. A fancy screener basically.

He used to post really insightful opinions and trade ideas daily. Now although he has a couple helpers sharing the load, he pretty much treats it as a place to share his opinions whether they be market related or not.

They are still really good but for the new reader it's not nearly as valuable as it once was. The content there is great and the site is a great resource (the archives are worth a trawl) but less and less of it is time sensitive (i.e. trade-able ideas) so you can check it at leisure.
