Beyond Candlesticks

The book is written in a clear, easy to follow style. The concepts, although not complex, have their nuances and these are dealt with in a way that doesn't confuse or overwhelm the reader. The exercises provided help to consolidate the knowledge gained by the reader. All in all, a very good and useful book.

Ok

I've read "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques" by Nison as well as many other candlestick books, this was very repetitive information upon reading it. Nothing all that new. I think all you need is his original because his other books are seem prettty similar to the original.

Great for understanding basic candlesticks

I have not read the first version of Nison's book, but I found this to be full of good information about candlesticks. I immediatley became a better technical trader after learning and understanding what candles have to say in overall chart formations. Most important section in the book in about the doji. The doji never lies!!!!

Stick With The Original

I agree with the other reviewer MDWagner on this one--good review of all the major candlestick charting patterns, Nison did basically invent the, or at least popularized them, so let him charge waaaay too much for his dry speeches and going over the same stuff over and over and over again. I'd say read this one if you can find it for free in your local library or you're bored and don't want to succumb to more useless newer books on technical analysis (give it up guys)...an infinitely better charting book choice is "Trade Chart Patterns Like The Pros"

Not a lot new here

If you own the other candlestick book by Nison, this one is pretty much a review. There isn't a lot of new information in this book. There is a little bit of new information, but in my opinion, not enough to justify buying it separately.
