Must watch documentary

Enron: The Smartes Guys in the Room is one of the best documentaries i've watched lately.

It's the story about 7th greatest corporation which built it's reputation and $70 bill. dollars assets in period of 15-20 years but collapsed and went bankrupt in just 24 days. It's the story about greatest "pump and dump" in corporate history and is a must watch for anyone interested in economy/finance.

What really happened

"Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room" is one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

It does a great job explaining how Enron rose and later plummeted. From rolling blackouts in California to massive amounts of white collar crime and fraud, this documentary has it.

If you want to know what happened with Enron, watch this documentary.

Good Documentary

The story of Enron really hit close to home since it is based in Houston, Tx where I live. Plus my mom worked there several years. Luckily she quit and moved onto better before it went down. Enron was a well oiled machine. Apart from all the bad things they preformed, they were a money making business. Having Enron on your resume still carries a lot of weight. Unfortunately they were highly corrupt which later brought them down. This story is amazing to see because it shows you just how deep their corruption went and just how they were connected. Definitely a must watch for anyone looking to see how big business can be evil.

Wow

Enron was actually the very first stock I ever bought. Luckily I didn't get killed in it since it was already well past dead at the time, but it did make me think twice and I walked away from any thoughts of trading for a long time until recently.

Thought this was really well done and both compelling and disgusting at the same time in terms of what people can do and get away with. Another example of, at least in the near term, how perception can easily become reality.

Worth watching, it's an eye opener.

Very informative

I remember when this happened I was a kid and didn't understand anything about why and how this company went bankrupt. This film really opened me to accounting scandals and explained to me why this company went bankrupt. If you really want to know what happened to Enron, this is a must watch.

Good documentary about when things go wrong

I wasn't very into the news of what happened to Enron back then, so it was good to watch this and get all the details about it. All in all, a very good documentary that exposes the illegal practices of a group of people who didn't care about anything but money. It is amazing how the government and regulators keep failing on watching one step ahead and only try to fix things when they go really wrong.

I still cannot understand how such a "scam" like this grew so big. But things like this will continue to happen every single day.

Very good to watch and learn to be always always always always always alert. Never trust no one, even less huge corporations that look like serious companies!

must-see film!

This is a very, very powerful movie. It is smart, education, funny and yet absolutely terrifying. It is a must see for anybody and everybody interested in finance and business because the Enron story is the best cautionary tale there is. From their mark to market accounting, convincing (and obviously self made ) quarterly reports and expensive luncheons, the Enron guys teach us about the power of illusion and the risk of trusting appearances. Don't hesitate to watch this film because it will change your life forever.
