Too much negativity now
I think the world of Baron but Elite trader has become a home to trolls and broke traders looking to vent their frustrations. There are still some gold nuggets there amongst all the crap

I like this site as a place for Reviews and Opinions.
It may not be the slickest site out there but it's effective.

It's mostly a forum site for Reviews and Opinions of all things trading.

I used this site before Investimonials.com to get other traders' views and opinions of software, etc.

Their Search feature could be better, but overall still good.

Lots of Info but...
This site has a TON of info. Overall the layout is a bit tacky and outdated, but a forum is a forum. You just need to keep on digging in order to find out where the real information is. Unfortunately there are many sponsors and reps that lurk the site and pump their services. Just need to do your due diligence.

You need to dig in depth but there is value
I can not read most of the forum in EliteTrader due to spam, ads, and noise. However, there are some threads of great value according to me. For instance, I found a thread about pair-trading which is very well done and followed. I go and check the messages once in a while.

Worst, most unethical, corrupt review site on the web.
Any negative comments (completely justified) concerning a forum sponsor (Amp Trading) are deleted and the reviewers get banned.

Yet amptrading keeps posting its advertising schtick on their boards without any rebuttal.

Quite possibly the worst, most dishonest trading forum on the web.

It's like being in the Soviet Union at EliteTrader.

Good Solid Site
I check the reviews regularly for brokers, books, etc. I give it an 8/10 for that part. I'm not sure about the negative comments for ads - have learned not to pay attention.

I do know you'll be hard pressed to find more comprehensive information than what you can get in the forums. I have printed off some of the forums comments on one subject that were over 500 pages (by accident - I read about 100-150 pages). I've learned a lot about options trading from this site.

ok for newbies only
there are some valuable posts but the forum is dominated by advertisers and spammers who have NOTHING OF VALUE TO SHARE ... THE SITE OWNER FORBIDS ANY CRITICISM OF PAID ADVERTISERS.......BASICALLY THE SITE IS A BIG WASTE OF TIME AND MORE SERIOUSLY .... A POTENTIAL WASTE OF MONEY

very heavily supported by advertising which makes it hard for the mods to keep an objective view. There are a lot of solicitors on elite trader in the form of "sponsors" lol
