All you need to learn to trade

I got started in day and swing trading learning a bit here and there on the internet and reading books. In the past I did a bit of long term trading, using a buy and hold approach because I didn't know anything else.

I had always been interested in day trading in particular and so I decided to try paper trading for a couple of weeks, after that I started using real money. I only lasted about 3 weeks using real money until I realized I needed some serious help. It was a very emotional three weeks(to say the least) that I hope anyone reading this will not have to endure. However, my losses were relatively small compared to some other stories I've heard.

The thing is, it took me having to go through those three weeks to realize I needed an education and some guidance. So if anyone new to trading is reading this then I would like you to know that getting some instruction is very important and will save you money and a big headache.

So once I realized that I needed an education the question became, what type, with who and how? The best type of education I can think of would be if you knew a professional(and successful) trader who is willing to sit with you every day and critique you as you trade. Basically one on one, face to face mentoring. Chances are that is not possible so the second option for me was training through the internet.

So if you are with me so far you agree that you need an education and you think getting it on the internet is the most applicable option and so the question becomes which service do you use, and this is where my recommendation comes in.

I believe that Grok Trade Mentoring will help anyone who wants to learn day, swing or position trading. It's a 3 day course full of great material and afterward life long mentoring through e-mail where they actually critique your trading plan(you have to write one based on what you learned in the course) and have regular group meetings, also they supply you with a trade log spreadsheet which you can regularly send in and they will critique that for you to make sure your on the right track. The fact that they have ongoing training showed me that they really want their students to learn how to trade properly. And in my opinion, it is just as important as the 3 day mentoring itself if not more so.

Also, if you want specifically day trading, I recommend doing the Mentoring first and then afterward joining the Grok Star chat room. Don't do the chat room using real money before you do the mentoring(like me =)

So all in all I recommend this service without reservation to anyone wanting to learn day, swing or position trading.

Mentoring is a must for success

I had been trading on and off for more than 15 years. Made a bunch of money during the 1999-2000 stock market “irrational exuberance” gold rush, but since then I have been very successful in giving it all back.

Over the years I had been trading with the “think” philosophy, without applying any real analysis to my trades. By chance I came across Des (freetradingvideos) 3-4 years back and started following his daily videos. Last year, I decided I would give trading a serious try, but given my (mis)-adventures over the years I made a promise to myself that I would not trade till I was comfortable with an established method of trading and given that I had been following Des’s perceptive videos, I made a decision to go through with Grok Trades mentoring program.

The mentoring was conducted over a 3 day period. What I had realized earlier and which was reinforced in the mentoring is that one can learn and follow any number of strategies but your mental mindset has to change and one needs to be focused. To me that was the biggest mind shift that was and is required and which is very well covered in the first half of day one of mentoring and continually reinforced over the remaining days. Also, the flow of the information was well thought out with a number of real life examples.

Des, Scott and Mark did an excellent job in covering the content which included a wide range of topics that cover Technical and Market Analysis and most importantly Psychological analysis. Chart patterns, trends, price action, various market internals etc were all discussed at length. Also, Mark does an excellent job in sharing his day trading system which is what I have been following since I started trading again. His callouts are amazing and I am still continually learning from him on how to trade successfully.

I still have ways to go before I can claim to be a successful (consistent) trader, but the mentoring has brought about a change in my mindset. I have started protecting my capital and have started exiting trades without much emotion, whether it is for a profit or for a loss. The biggest change is that I am not afraid to take a loss and am willing to “live” with the profit I make.

I am a firm believer that for most of us mentoring is a must, whether it is Grok Trade or any other mentor, but having been through Grok’s mentoring program, I highly recommend their system, and am convinced that it is time and money well spent.

The training I've got truly exceeded my expectations. The Grok Trade mentors have genuine interests in helping their students develop their skill to become independent traders. These mentors worked very hard to become successful traders so we don't have to re-invent the wheels. This is a must do Life Changing Mentorship - "STOP LOSING"

This is an excellent education opportunity. Once you complete the mentorship, you will believe in one thing - "Capital Preservation is important than Profits". I learned lots of new basic techniques and steps of trading. I personally had lost about 10k prior to meeting Des and undertaking his mentorship program. After the 2 day immersion mentorship by Des, I had quiet a success in trading. I did not have a major loss during the major crash in 2008 due to this mentorship. I made excellent profit in 2009. In 2010 due to personal situation I did not trade much but 2011 was good to me. Currently, 2012 has been profitable also. (did not trade Jan. to April).
