An obvious idea whose time has come...
Sykes has come up with a brainstorm of an idea, the only problems remaining are the cross promotion marketing, and site feature refinement and he is working on that feverishly, he has recently noted.
The concept of having brutally honest reviews about financial services is so obvious in a world where corruption exists like there is no tomorrow, is a no brainer that elicits the usual "why didn't I think of it first?" moments among all of us!
The name is cool, too, and has "TIM" in it, LOL.
On my wish list is a feature to make all pre-existing product reviews for a subject be accessible in one click on their name, going to their website is NOT enough, even for authors like Amazon listings, as I want to see the REVIEWS for all of one person cited *from* Investimonials, for browsing, etc. without typing searches or knowing all the products out for review or those that have been.
If you look up at top right on the site, you can see the icon for a linking feed, like RSS or Twitter but made for this service/web site. Tim is on the cutting edge and works hard to optimize his services, but particularly this one, as I think this is personal to him and beyond financial, as noted today on Livestock.
The concept of honest reviews in a field where fraud is common, and its annoying effect on him, I think drives the development of this site, and he is doing a good ongoing job so far.
I consider Investimonials a work in progress, and a must read. I plan to link it to my new blog and suggest you do the same if you have a stock market related web presence.
Also, Ivbucks is an ingenious marketing ploy, allowing users to profit in a way epinions has not figured out. I suggest you check out how fast those virtual dollars add up!
Lastly, the *audience* for Sykes, from Reaper, myself, and other penny players who have been in the markets for years MAKE the site from grassroots. We that followed him are often writing these reviews, have established Investimonials accounts and are now linking him on our blogs, and have been through most of the errors and services and books and can provide a perspective that a generic epinions post cannot. A true grassroots effect.
I hope this expands, because it is an idea whose time is long overdue!
