Be sure you know how to read charts for it to be useful.

What you see is what you get. I have heard people say that some of the people who share charts are not the most truthful. To any person of average intelligence, this should be a no brainer. Chart.ly is NOT claiming to be a truthful sight. It is a sight where novice to experienced traders give their opinions on charts. I say that you have to know what you are doing, so you can seperate the right charts from the wrong charts. There are times that you can find some great setups with certain stocks that you may not have thought about before. Anyone who claims that an OPINION site is not always right is as ignorant about as complaining that the sun does not shine enough in Seatle if you catch what I am getting at.

I am not a fan

I was very surprised to learn than Chart.ly was an invention from Tim Sykes. I have had a strange feeling about Howard Lindzon for years. After reading the Chart.ly story, my opinion was made.

Anyway, I do not like charts in general and Chart.ly does not make easier or funnier to read charts. The service could be really improved if the chart authors were reviewed and their alerts followed up. Currently, it is a lot of noise and not a lot of value.

random collection of amateur "chartists"

Half of the people on this site just draw and label a couple of things and then call themselves "technical analysts." You can only rely on charts for trend, et cetera. In the long run the fundamentals of the stock are much more important. Feel like this site gives a soap box to people who do not deserve to have one in the first place.

Chart Heaven

If you love charts then you will absolutely fall in love with chart.ly. They've got tons of great charts, enough to keep you busy for months. Bullish charts, bearish charts, forex charts, futures charts, and videos of charts too, all from different sources and traders. Great place to get daily trade ideas and investing ideas as well. Some say the site goes down often but i have never experienced any problems with chart.ly whatsoever. I would highly recommend.

Not many like it

the main thing about the site that i like is that there is not many, if any that focus on the technical trader the way this site does. What other FREE service lets chartists gather in this manner? The only downfall is the people who do not properly utilize/understand patterns and this could lead others to make mistakes. But like anyhting else that is free, use it to your best of abilities but it will not make you rich... just a very good resource.

Best Chart site on the planet.

Stocktwits and Chart.ly is a great service. No-where else on the internet can you find so many charts of your favorite stocks, with annotations of certain traders thoughts. Love the service, will always keep an eye on this site and on twitter.

Good idea for compiling mindset of the traders

Nice tool for sharing charts. I don't us it much but many traders post their thoughts on the charts using this service. Overall great idea for compiling mindset of the traders on any symbol's chart. At least you will learn technical analysis from there.

Search for different setups with great commentary

This is a real nice tool for investors to share their commentary with followers and readers on the site. I really like the feature which allows you to search for particular setups, such as a bull/bear flag that is forming – solid commentary and analysis by those who point out these setups! There are also videos posted by users with good commentary and analysis as well. I have added this to my portfolio on investimonials and suggest you do the same!
