Speculative manipulation on the markets - No free speech

Stock twits is a decent website to get information on what the sheep in society think.

NO FREE SPEECH HERE!!! They will delete posts off their website that they don't like. There staff who deleted some of my messages insisted that gold and stock have no relation, when they do. Any investor knows this and I am surprised by the lack of intelligence on their behalf.

This website is childs play and more than likely run by a bunch of imbeciles since their staff seems so uneducated or simply absent minded. However, in either case the staff is a reflection of the website itself.

Finalized view - Good to know what the mass sheep think - poor for free speech or discussion of any kind, just like twitter.

Stocktwits is the best place to go for idea generation both during and outside of market hours. These guys over at stocktwits have put together a great little community so that us traders don't get lonely during the day. I have found some of the best resources using this site! thanks alot

Twitter of Stocks

Stocktwits is a glorified twitter for stock trading. You can follow certain stocks or certain traders. They also have some select blogs that offer a higher experience. This is a good way to follow traders and get ideas for trading. Nothing overly special here.

Good, because the key to being a good trader is....

knowing how people think. Yes, it is no news that the site is not the most truthful in the world. However, I think it is very essential. Reason being that I hear all the time things along the lines of since such and such happened, the stock should have plummeted or skyrocketed. One of my phylosyphies is that "shoulds" are worth nothing in short term trading at least. Reality, however is. Rather, right or wrong, should or should not, all that matters is that a stock is up or down. Stocktwits is great for seeing how others are reacting to it. A company could have the greatest news. However, if no one is excited about it, than it WON"T move prices in the short term. Even if people are ignorant, they are the ignorants that can and do move prices at times. Yes, there are legitimate and smart reviews as well. I would still, however, choose something along the lines of the Wall Street Journal for smart and legitmate reviews over Stocktwits. Stocktwits should not be your source for that at all.

Equivalent to Twitter - only focused on Investing

StockTwits is a perfect place to get formal and informal stock information, chart analysis, and investment related ideas from anyone and everyone around the world. Pick and choose who to follow so your feed is filled with relevant information for your style of trading/investing. I've found it to be quite helpful when searching for new ideas to then research on my own. Main stream media can only cover so much, and plenty of hidden gems are waiting - easily discovered on StockTwits.

I don't understand the people that bash this website. If you don't like what you are seeing, ignore it! This is a great way to measure sentiment and follow those that have a good record of trading the market. And, it's free.

The Stock Niche of Twitter

Regular Twitter is still great for information, but just having a niche Twitter makes all the difference. Much more specific and the ability to focus on certain types of stocks. I like how in profiles you can make personal attributes for what your specialty is. This is a tool I use to understand the reasons for certain individuals as to why they do what and when. Would not rely on information for actual trades, but as secondary information.

This site is a godsend. I mean, if traders and financial junkies had a haven, it is stocktwits. They have so many tools,videos, articles, its overwhelming. And I mean that in the best way possible. A lot of question that we all have about trading? Stop asking them, and just join this wonderful community. They will be answered.

"Groundbreaking"

I love stock twits but not necessarily for their twitter feed but for the great network of websites and blogs they've produced. Some of the best traders around are part of the stock twits network. Chart.ly, stocktwits.tv, alphatrends, abnormal returns, quinttatro, gtotoy, and downtown trader are just some of the sites and blogs that are part of their network and they are all run by well known and respected traders. Some of their premium stuff is a little pricey but im sure plenty of traders and investors benefit from them. Much like Timothy Sykes has revolutionized the finance world with investimonials and profit.ly, stocks twits too has been there paving the way and educating all traders and investors alike.
