The T3 Trading Group Annual Report on SEC.gov is interesting
Read the T3 Trading Group Annual Report before you apply for a job as a proprietary trader. In 2012, 99.89 percent of T3 Trading Group's revenues came from the trading fees T3 charges its proprietary traders. Only 0.106 percent of T3 Trading Group's revenues came from their share of the profits its traders made. T3 charges its traders for every share they trade. Traders are discouraged from trading a low number of shares per trade even if their trades lose a lot of money and even if they are placing the same number of trades.

The manager's free training classes were vague. The manager's free training materials were skimpy. T3 Trading Group sells a lot of training products. One year ago, the training products were a lot more expensive. I never paid for any of the company's training products. For one day and only one day, I listened to the T3 Chat Room. I printed the transcript of the one day period.

The T3 Trading Group Annual Reports can be downloaded from Edgar on the SEC website. The Annual Report is Form X-17A-5. The "Statement of Operation" (Income Statement) is interesting. The website address is: (www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/companysearch.html).

The shocking T3 Trading Annual Report on the SEC website
The T3 Trading Group Annual Report (Form X-17A-5) can be downloaded from Edgar on the SEC website. In 2012, 99.89 percent of T3 Trading's revenues came from the monthly fees and the trading fees its proprietary traders paid to the company ($15,106,432). Only 0.106 percent of T3 Trading's revenues came from its share of the trading profits ($16,082). T3 Trading charges its traders for every share they trade. Traders are discouraged from trading a low number of shares per trade even if their trades lose a lot of money and even if they are placing the same number of trades.

T3 Trading charged each of my co-workers about $1,000 a month in trading fees. The $1,000 a month does not include the losses from the trades. On some days traders were profitable, but on most days they were not. Many traders are also charged several monthly fees. Total monthly fees can be as low as $120 a month. After one month at T3 Trading, one unprofitable trader was allowed to double the number of shares he traded ($2,000 a month in trading fees). Some traders may have trading profits that will offset some of the trading fees (and monthly fees). My manager told us on several occasions that many traders deposit additional money when the fees and the trading losses deplete their initial $7,500 capital contribution.

Turnover at T3 Trading is high. The Linked In website profile of CEO Sean Hendelman reveals that T3 Trading has more than 400 proprietary trading jobs. My manager told us that it takes 6 months for traders to become profitable at T3 Trading. If the average trader quits T3 Trading in 6 months, then 800 people held those 400 trading jobs in 2012. In 2012, each of those 800 traders paid T3 Trading $18,883 in monthly fees and trading fees. Some traders may have trading profits that will offset some of the trading fees (and monthly fees).

What are the odds of being a successful trader at T3 Trading Group? In 2012, all of the traders at T3 Trading had $53,607 in trading profits. The traders’ share was $37,525 (70%), and T3 Trading’s share was $16,082 (30%). It is possible that 799 out of 800 traders received nothing, and one trader received $37,525. It is possible that 798 out of 800 traders received nothing, and two traders received $18,762.50 each (the equivalent of a $9.38 per hour full-time job). It is possible that the top one percent of the 800 traders received $4,690.62 each, and the remaining 792 traders received nothing. No wonder most traders resign in a short period of time.

The T3 Trading website reveals why revenues from the paid training products are not on the T3 Trading Group Annual Report: “T3 Live and T3 Trading Group, LLC are separate, but affiliated companies through common ownership.” The T3 Live website advertises two courses that cost $1,997 each. The Virtual Trading Floor costs $200 a month. T3 Live has many paid products. I never purchased any T3 Live training products. For one day and only one day, I listened to the Virtual Trading Floor. I printed the transcript of the one day period. My manager's free training classes were vague. My manager's free training materials were skimpy. About two months after I resigned from T3 Trading, T3 Live sent me an email that offered me a yearly subscription to the Virtual Trading Floor for $999.50. I was also offered a package of one course (I had three choices) and one year of private mentoring for $1,199.

VTF - Guaranteed To Make Money
The idea of listening to other traders on radios sounds good. Unfortunately it will be T3 making money from you rather than cashing in on great trade ideas. What you’ll hear a lot of are expressions such as “I just took a little Apple down there” or “I just sold a little Tesla up there”, I’m lighting up on my positions” etc. You will learn very little by following these guys and you will always get trade information after the fact. There are no pre warnings. A heads up or useful advice is only given to other traders that are there in person beside them as they conveniently cover or shut off their mics when necessary. After all, they don’t want you front running their trades now, do they? In trading timing is everything!

While you listen to traders, slam there headsets down, cough, and suck up the remaining part of their drinks with straws, you can follow the chat session where other mostly clueless traders tuned into the VTF, post useless information. In all fairness the intent of the VTF is not to educate, so you have to ask yourself why bother?

The Active Trader course material is well laid out and is complemented with a video serious. In it you will find trading strategies that may or may not work. In fact there is no statistical evidence of positive expectancy if you employ their methods. When they work great, when they don’t, oh well another paper cut. Make sure you have a full box of Band-Aids before your trading day begins.

Along with the course you will receive mentoring 2 times a week. This sounds great but there are too many people in the class typing away their questions. Will yours be answered? The course should be renamed the Active Shorter since the person running the course mostly shorts. Although he is brilliant shorter that does a good job explaining the rationale for his trades, he does his students a disservice since shorting is a skill for more advanced traders. It’s interesting that you get a course full of long trading set ups yet the person who wrote the course material rarely uses them.

If you are totally new to trading and wish to add a couple of tools to your belt you may consider the course to further your understanding. But only if it is offered at a deep discount since most of what is offered in the course is readily available in books and on the web.

T3 nice
Good free educational tools and market recaps but courses are overpriced , Live trading room is pretty decent , but prices are on the higher end. I just enjoy their free market daily recap etc and other videos

A bunch of fakes.
I used to trade for T-3 for about 18 months and they are pretty bad. Scott redler is the biggest Monday morning QB ever and always will tell you he expected wherever the market is trading. He never trades any size and will magically be on the right side. Sperling only stays on VTF (Virtual Trade Floor) if the market is up and as soon as it goes down he will complain that "this isn't trading" LOL, He also only calls out his winners. Evan only shorts stocks and I imagine just makes $ off of the commissions of T-3. Nadav is a complete crook who will tell people anything they want to hear to open an account while secretly charging you outrageous fees for "administrative, accounting or software fees" They make all their money off of education and actually lose money trading (Check Edgars govt). Steer clear of these shady individuals.

Updated review: 6/16/11
This is an updated review from my previous review back on 2/2010 and I did not have my password anymore from my previous screenname.

I have used T3Live since mid 2009 and I honestly have learned a lot of information. The value that I have recieved has been from Scott's videos and after using the service for a few years that is where the value has come from. Occassionally I also listen to Steve Levay's material and have found it to be helpful as well. I noticed that the site has done a better job of being maintained. Back when I was using the service there was many, many, MANY times where videos did not work, they were not updated, the format was messy and hard to read, so the new studio has been improved and helpful. Also, I never got responses from e-mails and the phone number never worked to call in.

I stopped using the chatroom, I did not find it added much value and upon digging I read some material that the calls are delayed due to the internet which I did not know about. Out of all the services I've used, I've found T3Live to have the best information overall. At the same time, the prop firm along with many others seems to come off as a boiler shop. One thing that I have noticed since I've been part of T3Live is that they have had a high turnover rate which is always a bad sign. There has been a new face and it is hard to even stay constant with each guy's material and style. In particular, Evan Lazarus has been the worst for me in terms of performance. I noticed he comes off as a wanna-be Jim Chanos by shorting every stock similar to estrader who was a member who lost $90,000 trading and was a member of the site.

I no longer use T3Live anymore, outside of Scott's material, I do not really fnd anymore value from the site, and his information over the years has given me a solid base to do my own work. I also do not like the subtle transition over time with his style. I remember back when I first heard about T3Live in 2008 before I joined, Scott came off as a genuine guy who was down to earth. After awhile he started having angry outbursts over the radio and when I would e-mail him questions. He also started doing the 'chest pounding' more and always is saying 'if you invested the last 10 years you made no money in the S&P-500' which SOUNDS great, but Scott people actually do actively manage money, so you are not correct unless you literally did nothing and just held the entire time. Again, his style has changed and does not really parallel with me anymore.

I am an investor who needed trading tactics and did get the information I needed. I never went to the building or did any additional training courses, etc, etc. I just did A LOT of leg work and due diligence by watching and reviewing the videos throughout the years.

Word of caution as well: If you start trading you need to have a goal or standard in which you expect to be successful in. The business is not easy and a lot of people lose money, the stats don't lie. It really is not truely for everyone.

GREAT Site, Awesome Traders....Huge Part Of My Trading Day
I'm a big fan of the T3 Site and a happy to be a part of their community. I think Redler and Sperling are some of the best on the Street and the more I watch, I think that Lazarus and Kelleher brings a lot of value as well. These guys are really focused on the technicals, without focusing on all the lagging indicators that I can't stand anyway (MACD, Stocastics, waste of time IMO). They identify chart patterns, bases and candlesticks and thats all I care about.

All depends on your style....for me, I am a swing trader. I focus on levels off of the daily and then dive into the intraday charts to watch price action before going long or short. When I come in to the market everyday, I have stocks that are on my radar from my research. If they trigger at the open, or later in the day, I only enter a position if the volume tells me to do so. I have been burned too many times and shaken out if I take something for the wrong reasons. Sometimes they trigger the next day, sometimes they take weeks. I don't look for pre market gappers, or stocks on fresh news that are going to make major moves in the first 15 minutes. Guys make a ton that way, good for them, just not how I roll. Matter of preference I guess.

So for me, T3 works.....I watch the Morning Call every day with Redler, usually to just get confirmation that I am on the right track. There have been "Plays of the Day" given by Sperling and other Team Members that weren't on my radar and after looking at the techinicals, I saw what they saw, acted upon trigger and made some nice returns.

One today was MCP....it was in a tight basing channel on the daily for days leading to the open. Last night some broker gave it an inflated price target upgrade. Coming in today it was on my radar with a trigger of 76.22, but after hearing Kelleher and Sperling talk about how much they loved it and other Rare Earth, it immediately went to the top of my list. What happened? Stock ran like a scalded monkey right from the bell, I added early and then again at my trigger and made some nice loot.

All depends on your style.....but T3 seems to really care about teaching you to how to fish, and if you want to be successful in this business, focus on that first....you'll eat good for life. Best job in the world.

Excellent Resource for New Traders
Excellent resource for new traders. These guys really care about getting their message out there and use that to your advantage....T3 will provide you with a lot of great information and strategies to approach the markets. I have never subscribed to any of their services, but the information that they post regularly on twitter and/or their website is top notch and always worthy of my attention.

Professional
Everything you need to become a successful trader at your fingertips. Worked with T3 a few years back, it was a very good experience. The best traders put some of the best content together to make a revolution in the way you trade. If you are a seasoned vet, you will be able to follow the more advanced lessons and trades. Or, if you're just a beginner, they start you off on the basics, and build up on lessons. Very good value here.
