More information elsewhere
I am a member of their newsletter service Stock Advisor but other than that I don't use them for much of anything else. All the information in the website can be found through other sources and the information that is provided under the stock quote section is much better on sites such as Yahoo or Google Finance. They do have a neat community section where you can post trades and see what other traders are thinking about various stocks on different message boards. Too much hyping of their newsletter services for me to continue to visit the site.

Not alot of original content
Most of their articles are rehashed, but the problem is, not rehashed from other sites, but from their own! Which is very funny, since you will see an article with the same title for different stocks. Then when you look at the structure of articles, it's super similar to another article with the same title. Almost as if they use the same article with gray boxes and when they want to write an article for company XYZ they fill in XYZ in the Gray Boxes.

Only good for quick glances.

4 out 5
The Motley Fool gets a 4 out of 5 rating from me. While the variety of news on the site is broad, and i like that......it is also very broad and I feel like you won't get the same kind of in-depth discussion, analysis and thought you get in other places. Nevertheless the motley fool is a good place for those in search of information. On the whole I recommend it.

Scam jouranlists who have no idea about investing
Well let me give you an example of how they are no different than the average investor. They are wrong, wrong some more, and then when they could finally be right thy are wrong again. Let me show an example and explain. Lets take the stock symbol CREE for example. Everyone's experienced and heard about how people buy a stock at the top and sell at the bottom. Well there are no better advisors at this then MOTLEY FOOL. On 4/20 and 8/10 which were both earnings dates for CREE, Motley Fool was positive on the company and kept writing about how good the company is and how it could and should go higher. Well 4/20 was them buying at the top. 8/10 is them continuing to tout how good of a company CREE is and how the stock price drop is temporary and there are many good things about the company going forward. On 4.20 CREE was at 82. on 8/10 CREE was at 72. On 10/19 earnings CREE is at 50 and MOTLEY FOOL writes an article after their earnings and says how CREE is going to have trouble ahead and to dump the stock. BUT HEY WHATTYA KNOW, the company bottom at 50 and 2 months later is at 73. If that isn' the finest display of buying high and selling at bottoms then I don't know what is. IF YOU THINK FOR A MINUTE THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE then please see stock symbol CTRP for further example. And there is many more, as I have been watching htem for years. They are clueless on how and why a stock moves.

Hit-or-miss, more often miss
The Motley Fool has lots of content & entertaining reads, but like most media sources pimpin books & trading systems, it's just a mirage of a watering hole for the sheep to drink at. Yes, they have research that points out solid trends on stocks that have yielded high returns/dividends/etc, and lots of discussion of qualitative factors influencing markets, but if your goal is to make money, there's better sites to spend time reading. I'd pass.

Too much hype and sales pitches
I am constantly receiving e-mails about the next big mystery stock as well as the brothers who claim to have great returns that beat the markets over the last few years. There is too much hype here that draws in the average investor looking for the “big story”. Entertainment value is only thing that might keep me reading some of their commentary.

Read their articles with cynical eyes
I always read every article written by them with cynical eyes. Never take them seriously but don't hesitate to read them. Nice to see how investors/traders digest those articles by watching the stock price covered on those articles. I never trade based on the articles written by Fool authors, it's only one variable on the whole research I do on any given stock.

The Motley Fool - website.
Never liked this site or the guys behind it. Sure they may be trying to help the average joe, but I don't consider people on twitter or investimonials 'average joes'. The coolest thing that Motley fool has done is their CAPS service which is basically comparing traders picks and performance. There are much better sites such as VSE, and profit.ly which in my opinion are much better and upcoming.

It's alright
What makes me think that the website is just "alright" is the fact I am convinced the guys writing reviews are "pumpers". They always give you advice about such and such stock, but honestly, if you need to research, you can do it on your own. Don't believe anybody in this business but yourself. If you need an new website and eye candy, go visit them...
